christmas cards. Why should I send them?

I will send them bc i Always do but dont get the point when they are totally impersonal. Just a pic and printed name and printed envelope. Seems silly

Don't be like those people who don't send holiday cards. Please.

I love sending and receiving cards! Yes, they are expensive, but we don't bake Christmas cookies or really anything else special this time of year, so I take the time and money lots of people choose to spend on baking and do cards. They bring me joy to send and receive, and don't add calories

I keep all the ones we receive on the fridge or the mantel. I love getting pictures of other peoples' kids

I thought about skipping them bc money is tight this year but am so happy I decided to bite the bullet and just shave off on the xmas gifts (amount and quantity). I ordered half the amount and plan to just send to the older, non tech savvy and ppl we have not kept in touch with thru the year. Other ppl that are FB or that we see often we will skip this year.

I love getting Christmas cards. I tape them to these foyer doors I have as you enter our house and keep them up usually until some time in February. Not everyone is on FB (and I don't get on FB that often myself), so I feel like it just a way to stay connected. We don't live near family (my SIL is an hour south and the next closest is 7 hours away), and many of our friends live in other states. If pictures and letters are sent, that's a bonus. It helps me feel (gosh I don't know how to say this right without sounding dramatic) loved and surrounded by my friends and family even if they aren't close.

That said, I don't think I'm going to send cards this year. DH has been deployed and just got back, but is stationed in a different state and this year I am just feeling overwhelmed. When I decided not to send out cards last night it was like a big weight was lifted off my shoulders. This will be the first year I haven't sent out something in 13 years. So, I gave myself permission to be slack - and will send cards next year.

I love getting them.

I love the pictures. I love looking at the different designs/ideas. I love decorating the house with them. I love those year end summary letters which often accompany them (even though it's mainly because I'm chuckling and rolling my eyes at the proclamations of perceived accomplishments from the passing year). I love the feeling that someone thought of me/my family.

Do it. You'll be happier after you do. And you'll make someone happy.

To help support USPS. They are having a rough year. Well, that's always the case.
