Marshall has IB and Woodson has AP.

That has little to do with the higher scores. The neighborhoods around Marshall and Pimmit Hills improved a lot. The gang presence no longer exists. And many more students come from upper income households than before. 15 years ago the school was mostly lower to middle income. Since then, all the new single family home construction in the area has been high end.

That's correct - there's been a lot of new single-family housing built in 22043 in Falls Church and 22182 in Vienna in the last 20 years and it's all been high-end stuff. That's also true for the new townhouses that feed into Marshall - a lot of $650-850K townhouses near Tysons and 1-2 complexes in McLean that are even more expensive. The only new housing in the district that's less expensive is some of the stuff near the Dunn Loring metro.

If the county ends up mandating a lot of subsidized or lower-priced housing in Tysons when it gets redeveloped, however, that dynamic could change.

This is due to Bulova, so unfortunte we didn't vote her out.

As a graduate of Madison, I think that Woodson would be considered the best of the schools mentioned, followed by Oakton and then Madison and Fairfax. Of course, I graduated 20 years ago and now live in the city, so take that for what it's worth.
