Arlington Children's Center?

| We visited last year and would've placed my child there if she was 3+ years old, but weren't comfortable placing a one year old in a room with cots. I think this is all centers, though. |

| We have our 3 and 5 year old there. The 3 classroom has lovely teachers who are compassionate and our youngest is well taken care of. The older class is a stark difference. The teachers don't seem to monitor the kids and they definitely don't have compassion to deal with normal developmental issues. Our oldest has come with random bumps and scratches and no one can tell us what happened. The school has low staff turnover which is good. The center director tends to be conceding and can be unprofessional in her interactions with parents. Our biggest concern is how it seems as though the staff and Director appear to be uneducated in terms of normal child development and appropriate discipline. We've noticed a lack of compassion and shame when kids do normal kid stuff (ie putting something up their nose.) We've also noticed parents who have their kids in the younger classrooms move them when they get older and move into "group 4". That's what we are doing as well. |

I have my 6 month old there and was nervous at first (started at 3 months) but I'm happy he is there- all the teachers are very interactive and loving. They stimulate him so much more than I can while at home. They are also quite flexible and willing to work with on schedules, feedings, etc. I send primarily expressed BM, occasionally formula with no problems.
That said, I really want to know what that smell is when I walk in the door...is that just daycare or is it a cleaner? If its cleaner, is anyone else concerned with how much is being used and the little ones breathing that in? (or am I paranoid....) |

I have my infant and toddler there. I have seen and experienced many child care situations-- professionally and personally. You are incredibly lucky if you can get in to this one. High quality, family- like environment. The best part about this place is the lack of turnover. Although the owner and Director run a tight ship, everyone seems very happy. |

| I didn't care for the fact that they switch babies to one nap at 12 months - mine was absolutely not ready for that and it wreaked havoc on our lives. |

My daughter went there years ago. Now she is in kindergarten school and I was very lucky to enroll her here. Office staff ,owners and all teachers are wonderful. Family environment,loving and caring . I highly recommend it,

| Our 5 year old went there and once he got to kindergarten we were asked if he "went to a quality day care" because he struggled with basic art supplies. We pulled our youngest as we noticed a uptick in behaviors and when we'd pick up after work, his classroom was chaotic and the kids didn't appear to have much direction. Now that our youngest is at a different day care, he is thriving with art, numbers and is starting to practice writing letters and numbers and the behaviors disappeared. We noticed around the time we pulled our child that a lot of older kids left as well. There are much better day cares in Arlington for similar price points. I'd avoid Arlington Children's Center. |

A few people have mentioned that they ended up taking their children to other daycares that they felt more comfortable with within a similar price point. Would folks offer recommendations, please? We will be ready for infant daycare in a couple of months and would like to consider all options before accepting the space here.

| Hello, I'm considering sending my 3 month infant to ACC midst Covid and seeking thoughts from parents who are sending their child to ACC. Do you feel comfortable with ACC's Covid risk management? Is ACC a good center with loving and responsible care providers in general? Thank you! |

| Hi! Our daughter attends ACC and is in the infant room. We love the staff and feel safe with all the measures that are put into place regarding Covid. No one is permitted in the building, gloves and masks when dropping off and picking up, temp checks for all children and if your little one comes down with any symptoms (including basic cold symptoms), a Covid test is required before returning to daycare. |
