The key to solving this problem is to take the greater route of pressing the "system" to WAKE UP and realize that illegals should not be consuming resources in our public school system.
Unfortunately this will have to go to the Supreme Court, as they are the ones that have already ruled that it is legal for ILLEGALS to attend public school, but so be it. It's amazing that Michelle Obama visited a MoCo school last year and protected one of the kids because she was illegal. Fast forward to this year, the same school system (MoCo) was making headlines about being overcrowded. Do math much? It's amazing how so few can connect these dots. |
Come on, no person is inherently illegal. Especially not kids. What is the alternative? Would you rather have the kids not in school? If they live here, they pay rent (contributing to property taxes) and sales taxes, and many of their parents pay employment taxes. The difference is that they are undocumented. Why are you takin this thread off the rails? |
I have to agree with 2353, illegal means you aren't supposed to even be here, much less consuming free public services.
If the illegal aliens would get out or at least cease to consume these services, the question at hand from the OP would not even be an issue for their kids. Ergo, this is very much on topic. As was demonstrated recently with Alabama's crack down on illegal aliens utilizing their public school system, enforcement does work and does return schools to the normal, productive, pupil and financial numbers under which they were originally intended to operate. Fortunately, last year the Obama administration had the largest deportation numbers on record in the history of our nation -400,000- but more still needs to be done when foolish judges misinterpret law to bat down common sense laws that reduce overcrowding in our children's schools. There is a place for a measured, process-driven immigration policy. It's part of what makes this country great. We actually need it to continue our greatness. However, there is no proper place for unbridled invasion of illegal aliens in our schools. |
