Wisdom Teeth Removal and Thanksgiving

OP, are you male or female? I think I remember my dentist telling me that there is a difference with swelling, but I could be totally making that up! No chance of getting them out sooner? What about after thanksgiving?

OMG!!!! Is this serious????

I'm a personal trainer and I was back in the pool next day helping my morbidly obese in and out for their work outs.

I still remember teaching fitness classes for 5 straight hours 3 days later!

I had only 3 teeth then and took the stitches out by myself.

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

I'm a woman. I don't think I can get them out any sooner than next Friday. If I wait until after Thanksgiving, I have important presentations/work that I don't want to be affected by a puffy face and pain.

Yes. If I decide to start troll threads, I promise they will have a more interesting topic than wisdom teeth.

I had my 4 impacted wisdom teeth out and missed 7 days of work. I had it done on Thursday and my husband took off Th/Fri. By Monday I still was in horrible pain. I missed the entire next week of work. I could eat fairly normal after that.

Don't put if off, just get it done. You'll be fine by Thanksgiving. There is never really a good time for these kinds of things but I don't like having stuff like this hanging over my head so I'd get it done before the holiday.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I went ahead and scheduled an exam, so hopefully I'll have them out by Friday of next week.

Well I had 2 wisdom teeth removed yesterday (Monday) so I'll update this thread again on Thanksgiving to tell how things are by then!

I have given birth vaginally 3 times, with no meds. The recovery and pain from that was nothing compared to my wisdom teeth removal. But I do think that 7-10 days is enough recovery time. Good luck, OP.

I had all 4 out on a Friday, 2 of them impacted, and went back to work Monday. The key is putting ice bags on your cheeks for 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off, for the first 12 hours after surgery. Get in done as early in the day as possible.

Why all 4? Are they all impacted/infected? I am just curious.

I am 41, my sister is 45, brother 43--none of us have had our wisdom teeth pulled.

I have been going to the same Dentist since I was 5. He is like no other in that he won't do useless procedures on people. He said unless they are impacted/infected they do not need to be pulled.

I recently had a friend have a pediatric dentist pull all of her son's baby teeth....so they would grow in better...wtf??? Now- a few years later the same Dentist wants to charge them a few grand for more Dental work.

A good portion of Dentists are true quacks.

None are impacted or infected, but I am getting braces. I had severe crowding even before my wisdom teeth came in, so I'm having them removed.

I had 2 done yesterday, will have the other 2 taken out after Thanksgiving.

OP here.

I was perfectly fine eating on Thanksgiving. I just made just to chew on the side where I haven't had extractions yet. And my facial swelling is gone.
