| I got rid of mine by pumping like crazy with a hospital grade pump and leaning over in doggy position while doing it. The gravity and force eventually got the clog out. |
| OP here; thanks everyone!! My DD finally got it out while nursing thisafternoon after I had done many of the above recommendations, thank god that thing is gone!! |
| what is DH???? |
| I also took lecithin for recurrent clogged ducts and it seemed to help. |
| Get on all fours and breastfeed. |
|
| I hope you got it out. I've tried all of these and I'm still stuck with one and it's been a while maybe 2 weeks at the least. ? and unfortunately we don't have the money for the antibiotics. |
| DH means darling husband or dear husband |
| Was going to tell op that long ago my doula taught me to aim baby's nose towards the clog. Always worked for me especially when I'd massage the clogged area. Seemed doubly effective. Weird but true. Made some interesting bf positions! |
| +1 for lecithin if this occurs a lot. you can get it at whole foods, it's a component of soy, is in a lot of foods (it keeps things from clumping/clogging, so is used as a 'stabilizer,' i gather). |
I like to read it as damn husband. |
I initially read this as "aim baby's nose towards the dog," and thought "but what if you don't have a dog?" I think I need an eye exam. |
+1 Dangle nursing saved my boobs! Sunflower lecithin helps to keep things flowing. Keep massaging too. I'm so sorry this is happening, clogs can be really painful. I hope you get relief soon. |
| It sounds weird, but use a comb on the clogged duct while you pump. It gives you extra leverage when your hands get too tired to compress the breast. |
| Use an electric toothbrush or any other...ahem...massaging device. The vibration helps break it up and dislodge it. Shower, heat, toothbrush, pump or nurse. Works every time |
