What is your housework routine?

DH usually does:
Groceries ordered from Peapod (we pay $6.95 per order over $100 plus $5 tip, but that $12 is the best we spend all week, and saves us an hour+ on the weekends)
Most of the cooking (can't tell you how awesome this part is!)
Mows the lawn once a week during summer, rakes the yard, etc.

Usually one of us cleans up dinner/loads the dishwasher while the other bathes the kids
we both put the kids to bed

In evenings I usually:
1 load of laundry on Tues, one on Thurs. (Take showers M, W, F)
Straighten up kitchen/paperwork/living room for 15 minutes each night
Vaccuum and dust on weekends or whenever everyone is out

Saturday mornings, I:
change sheets (usually every other week)
clean bathrooms, empty trash, etc.

ONce in a while I:
clean other rooms (guest room, etc)
do other stuff like reorganizing a closet, decorating project, etc.

How many hours a week do you exercise?

Ignore. Ignore. Get irritated. Pray DH cleans a bit. Breakdown clean. Scream at family. Threaten to move out and live alone. Listen to empty promises to help clean and not let it get so bad again. Wait. Rinse. Repeat.

We got a cleaning service after months of the above. Now it is ignore until Thursday night. Frantically straighten up. Bitch about having to do anything. Rinse. Repeat.

Sunday morning: I take the kid grocery shopping while husband cleans & vacuums living room. Get home, eat lunch, kid naps.
During nap, throw in laundry, I clean kitchen, husband cleans bathroom. Takes about 30 min.
Kid wakes up, we put away laundry.

Every day: clean up after dinner, clean up toys. empty dishwasher in the morning before work.

we need more lower paying workers so that the middle class doesn't have to do this

We are lucky if we clean once a week, often it's every other week. We do laundry weekly and wash dishes every day. I don't really understand the need to dust, vaccuum etc daily. I do insist on keeping the place relatively neat, but it doesn't have to be antiseptic.

The first part is definitely us. I haven't gotten the cleaning lady yet, but I threatened to yesterday!
