Mall trick or treating...

No PP YOU need to read, this is her EX HUSBAND not STBX and not CURRENT husband. Do you think they live together? Do you think she can tell him what to do on his time?

She is asking for advice on how to respond to her EX husband, but she is not going to get any advice here because you all cannot read.

I'm not sure which malls have trick or treating on Monday night anyway. I looked at Montgomery Mall and their trick or treating and Halloween event is Sunday. Says nothing about there being trick or treating on Monday. So, at the very least, you can check out the local mall website and maybe you'll luck out and mall trick or treating will all be this weekend only.

No such luck. The mall in question is doing it Monday night.

How old are the kids? If they are little and your ex wants to take them to the mall them let him. It will still be fun for the kids and they won't know what happens outside. Kids aren't missing out on life by not going door to door. If they are school age and they know about going door to door then they can ask dad if this is what they want.

Next year when you have them for Halloween you can take them door to door.

Where does he live? Is there an online nieghborhood resource that will tell you if there's a halloween parade or gathering that night?

Could it be that the mall choice is being made because he's not sure that there will be enough trick or treat houses?

Can you offer to have him walk in your nieghborhood- where your kids will have friends etc- while you stay at your own house?

Tell him that you think the real fun part is going up to neighbors doors. I can tell my son is so scared the first few doors, and then wams up and then by the end is just so happy. And then is so interested in the neighbors afterwards.

Also, tell him the plan to keep warm. Maybe he is more concerned that your child will get too cold, but won't want to admit it. Maybe plan to dress up well - or take breaks - or whatever works. Just make it clear that it will be safe.

I think you should go trick or treating in the mall.I rather be warm in a mall than be wet in the rain.I think it's stupid to trick or treating in doors but I don't want to get wet.And i'm in OHIO.
