Just happened to me this weekend. I live in Midwest now, haven't traveled in ages (thanks to my 3 young kids), yet apparently I was simultaneously buying hundreds of dollars worth of Victoria's Secret underwear in San Diego while also enjoying a Coca-Cola purchase in Pennsylvania. My card never left my wallet.
Sadly, I could really use both a Coke and some new skivvies, but neither purchase was mine. |
| Someone masquerading as me apparently did a lot of my Christmas shopping last week in New Jersey, But when the card number was entered, the PIN was entered wrong. Red flag to Chase who shut the card down automatically and called me. Kudos to them for noticing it so quickly. |

My number was stolen and used at a hotel in Texas and then the next day at a hotel in Hawaii, along with a helicopter ride! The credit card company had no trouble spotting that one!
The annoying thing was I used the card for several recurring payments, so I had to go set those up all over again with a new number. |
| My card number was stolen and used at a Walmart in Georgia when the credit card company could clearly see that I was Delaware at the beach this summer. So they called me and sent a new card with a new number. |
