Someone told Cain there are poor people

I don't even know why we bother talking about Cain. The Republicans can't win if the racists stay home on election day.

This is the best thread I have seen on DCUM in ages. Keep the coming.

I think that about 10% of the Republican vote is people who will not vote for a black man. Given that, a Cain nomination means that 10% of Republicans stay home, Dems win.

What percent of first Dem voters only came out last election because they were voting for a black man? Give it a rest. There are racists and bigots in both parties.

Because the Obama voters are definitely the uneducated and uninformed ones in the room.

Those voters will come again, and I'd bet dollars to donuts they will stick with Obama because so far Cain is not attracting black supporters. Look at his campaign stops and tell me what you see. I'm not saying that racism is right. I also can't stand that Romney has a "religion" problem either. I am looking at the political reality, which I have commented on time and time again. And that is that the Republican party is intolerant of minorities and because of that their long term outlook is really poor. It doesn't attract hispanics (although it could have as Bush proved), it doesn't attract blacks. And putting up a black candidate won't change that. You can hope for your next JC Watts, but you will probably end up with your next Michael Steele.

More like 50% who would never vote for a black person, no matter their qualifications.

Nope. They'll vote for Cain just to get Obama out of office. Our country can't afford another four years of his "change".

Seriously. He changed from Democrat to Republican overnight. Definitely too right of center for me.

He’s pretty close to what he always suggested he’d be. And there are lots of other Dems who are right there with him. Clinton would have been about the same, though possibly more effective.

Yep, the GOP base is definitely Dunning-Kruger in action. Basically the dumbest folks in the room who think because they've read all of Rush Limbaugh's books they've got something interesting to add to the conversation. Meanwhile, of course that Obama character is an idiot. After all, he's black. Meanwhile, their guy W was a freaking genius.
