| Keep in mind that if you have specific concerns about a house, you can always bring in a "specialist" (plumber, master electrician, etc.) to inspect specific systems, issues, etc., in addition to the regular, all-purpose inspection. e.g. we are hoping to move forward on a house that will need an asbestos inspection (due to some iffy looking ceiling tiles and vinyl floor tiles in the basement). We'll have to pay for it of course, but it will be worth it to us. My current agent told me to think of the inspection process as a "study period" vs. a one-time event, which I thought was a helpful description. |
