Pumps are fine but I would make sure they are cute and current. I'm partial to the wedge heel these days. There are tons of adorable ones on Zappo's and endless.com right now. Consider getting a less-common neutral like gray or taupe. Nude-colored shoes in particular do WONDERS for elongating the leg. I agree with the PPs that you should avoid straps--they don't do you any favors if your legs are short and stocky.

I think most women love boots but that most women look bad in them - particularly paired with a skirt or dress. I applaud you for recognizing that they just don't work for you. They don't work for me either.

The height/width proportions are probably still off, when considering the visual from head to toe. An honest personal stylist or sister would tell you this and steer you elsewhere.

I feel the same way about "skinny" jeans that come in a 22W. The fact that they exist doesn't mean they're a good choice for a 22W.

How wide? I'm wondering when wide begins.... 14 inches?

As a plus size lady, I could not agree more! I seriously cannot understand why they.make skinny jeans and feel badly for the heavy chics that buy them!

No way I would wear a tall boot. My calves would resemble.a sausage in.its casing! Lol Booties or pumps with.a wedge can be super cute.
