Appointing Summers and Geithner, major actors in the economic disaster, to his economic team. Showed that he was at best out of his depth.
I was never crazy about him and his glittering (delusional?) campaign rhetoric about "bringing everybody to the table so we can all agree about changing stuff" (really? getting insurance companies to give up on billions in profit just through sheer awe of your charm and personality? or what?)
But I was pretty happy for a couple of months between November and January that at least this country got a Black president for a change, just to stick it to the racists.
And then he appointed these clowns and it was pretty much over.
