11:34 here again... Honestly, if you're lucky enough to live/buy into Whitman, Churchill, McLean, or Langley... and your kid does well enough, he's going to be able to get into any college he wants. With one big caveat: There are SO MANY "top" students at these schools, that the college placements almost start to work against you. Anecdotally, I've heard of kids at these schools who get perfect SAT scores with straight A averages being turned away at Harvard, Princeton, etc. Why? Because the school has already accepted 4-5 other students from the same school with the same superior credentials. It almost makes you wonder if your child stands a better chance if he is one of 3 students at Richard Montgomery with "perfect" credentials, versus one of 12 students at Whitman with the same credentials? But seriously... if you're down to these 4-5 schools... I would not spend another minute thinking about the differences. They are all really "that" good. Find a nice house in a nice neighborhood with a decent commute... and choose there. |
Good point. You'll get a great education at all of these schools. But if college placement is what you're concerned about, move to DC, send your kids to Wilson, and they'll place really well. |
