I don't know if there was a rape or not. However, I don't believe that rape has anything to do with sex. So, suggesting that he could have used a prostitute rather misses the point. I also think that you are misrepresenting her conversation with the guy in prison (who may or may not be her boyfriend).

Regardless, all of this is beside the point. The French got turned off on DSK because he was charged with rape. Since then, additional allegations involving DSK and forced sex have come forward. Clearly the French view simple womanizing differently than they view rape and that is why DSK's reputation has suffered. As long as he was involved in consensual relationships, he was free to run for President.

Not all of us believe he is guilty. But many of us think the "pure logic" that a rich guy doesn't need to rape is terribly flawed, and we are posting to point that out.

WRT DSK, I still don't know as in many of these he said she said cases.
Italian women get their feeling hurt when their husbands cheat. Italian men also get hurt when their wives cheat.
