Yeah, Ah-jay would be the Indian pronunciation. I would think one Hindu Indian parent and one Christian parent (Indian or Caucasian).

Five syllable last name I would think South Indian.

Have a friend with three kids -- Simryn, Aiden, and Elizabeth. One parent is German-American-mutt, the other is Indian-American-mutt. They chose the prettiest names they could think of across their cultures and mostly personal likes.
