Gift bags for 4yo birthday party?

I gave away those Stage 1 "I Can Read" books at my son's recent 4th bday party. Bought a bunch from Amazon.com for $3.99 each. Bought some princess books and superhero books and let the kids pick. They were a big hit.

I wrote an entire post on this called Save on Kids' Parties: Skip the Goodie Bag after giving away ONE hula hoop to each kid at my daughter's 4th birthday party!

Each hula hoop cost me $1.00. The kids loved them, two parents pulled me aside to thank me for not handing out "a bag of crap" and I saved a bundle.

Skip the goodie bags! You can, you really can!

A small packet of seeds W/ a little flower pot? (Kids could decorate the pot at the party.

A goldfish in a bag filled with water? (That may be a little much, but could be good.)

Playdough w/ a cookie cutter.

I like the balloon/mask/book ideas.

Has anyone said bubbles yet?

Hit a 5 Below and pick up some cute tees for cheap.

Where's the party or what's the theme?

No play dough!! Every parent I know hates getting that stuff in the bag. Stinks, gets all over everything, ugh! I get annoyed thinking about it.

$1 bill with a note saying to do something good with it for a stranger.

HA HA HA!!! This is great, thanks for the laugh.

Oh, and the goldfish...that's terrific, let's dredge that up again. What a great idea, giving a LIVE ANIMAL to a 4 year old!
