How much is your HOA for a townhouse?

$180/month Sterling VA for lighting, 2 parking spaces, tot lot, snow & trash removal, and awn care (mowing, mulching, leaf blowing/raking).

The fee increased every year by 11%

There are also special fees if the roof or vinyl siding needs to be replaced.

I was offered a "deal" to replace an 8' long patio fence for $500.

Like PP said it is a racket but perhaps it is efficient in its way. Without an HOA the community would need over 200 lawn mowers and other such things for lawn care, as well as the space to store yard equipment & tools.

For some, the money is worth it not to have to mow grass and do exterior maintenance.
