Possible move to Arlington; how do the elementary schools work?

We live in Douglas Park - south of Columbia Pike - west of Glebe Road. Great neighborhood and there are a lot of apartments on the south side of Columbia Pike between Quincy and Monroe. Our neighborhood school is Randolph - you never hear about Randolph on this forum but it is a great neighborhood school - an International Baccalaureate program. No one seems to know about it. Probably because it's in S. Arlington and is 70% free/reduced lunches. But the principal is great, the teachers great, etc.
