BH at 21st and L?

Bump. I know this center has only been open for about a month, but are there any current parents willing to share their experiences? Thanks!

We have been there for only a few weeks but so far things have been great. The teachers are interested in my child and seem like they want to do a good job. The atmosphere is happy and welcoming. They did an excellent job caring for the kids and dealing with the craziness of the earthquake. Drop-off and pick up is a breeze. They keep parents apprised of what their kids did during the day.

That being said, not everything is right for everyone, so I suggest trying it out for yourself.

Can someone tell me what the infant rate is? Thanks!

14:22 poster here. I meant that childcare are decisions are hard and what works for one family may not work for another. It was just commentary.

I believe it's $1995/month. At 30 months it goes down to $1495/month.

Thanks to PP who described their experience. We are enrolling our infant and preschooler there in September. We have a good feeling about it, but always good to hear from other families.

It was difficult to find information about this center when we were making the decision to enroll our DC in the toddler program, so, now that we've been there for about a month, I thought I would post about my impressions. So far we've been very happy with it.

Here's what we like about it:

- The director, assistant director and teachers seem well-qualified and appear to genuinely enjoy interacting with children.

- Parents receive daily reports about what happened that day. The reports describe the activities in a lot of detail and also include pictures.

- They plan a lot of fun, educational activities - a lot of story time, art, circle time, music, introduction to letters and numbers, outside play, etc.

- The physical space is beautiful. Unlike so many downtown centers we toured, the infant and toddler rooms are at groundlevel, so many of the classrooms have windows. It also has a large playground and play area in an enclosed outdoor courtyard. There is also an indoor play area for when the weather is bad.

- Drop off and pick up are easy.

Disadvantages:

- As some other posters mentioned, it's pricey - $1980 a month for an infant or toddler spot and around $1,500 for a preschool spot.

- The preschool classrooms are in the basement.

They're having an open house from 10-2 on Sat. if anyone is interested.

We have been at this center a few weeks, and thought we'd post our experience. So far it's been extremely positive. This is not our first daycare, and we were very satisfied at our last center. That said, I am very impressed with the quality of teachers and the effort towards meeting the needs of the children. Drop off and pickup are easy, the director and asst director are very visible and accessible, and the teachers have very positive and outgoing attitudes. As the PP poster commented, preschool is in the "basement", i .e. not at street level, which was not concern for me per se, but one of the few negatives I found when touring the center. However, the preschool class is outside 2x a day for lengthy periods of time, and the preschool rooms and group space are cheerful and spacious, so it doesn't bother me like I thought it would. All in all, we are very satisfied so far.
