I agree, but unless people are salaried, they won't get paid during a shut-down. They still need to fix the A/C, though. |
OP here. I guess you're right. I (living in my dream world again) would hope that since it's the company's responsibility to keep the place cool, that they would still pay the workers during a theoretical shut down. I feel like sicing OSHA on them or something. |
Its called capitalism.
IF you don't like it, you can move to North Korea. But I bet the workers would prefer to be in a warm bread/salad establishment than freezing in a Communist Death-Camp. |
Not more than 2 months ago I got a free entree coupon at the one in Friendship because THEIR AC was broken. It was awful in there and there were people actually eating there! Weird. |
OMG. ![]() ![]() |
I forgot those were the only two possibilities -- totalitarian despotism North Korean style vs. warm bread and salad under capitalism. |
OP,
Why have you taken it upon yourself to go all Norma Rae on Cosi? Let it go, your obsession is beginning to take a turn for the strange. Besides Cosi is filthy and their food is trash, doesn't everyone already know this? |
Sorry, but your reference is simply inapt. OP is not concerned about unionizing the employees at Cosi. She is concerned about the air conditioning environment and the healthfulness of the food. Perhaps you could refer to Julia Roberts in Erin Brokovich? Or Meryl Streep in Silkwood? |
It's a sad day when an individual, trying to look out for other individuals, is called obsessed, strange, and norma rae. But whatever. Keep living in your little bubbles, folks. Hopefully you'll never be in a situation when you're being taken advantage of and could use someone to stick up for you. |
Someone like Kim Jong-il? No thanks. |
LOL!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Is it now a requirement that restaurants be air conditioned? |
If they want business in D.C. in the summer, yes. If they want people to walk out the door or have people grossed out by the idea of staff sweating into their food, then nope. Of course, I say that, knowing full well that restaurant kitchens are often extremely hot and cooks are sweating into the food on a regular basis. Thank you Top Chef for making me aware of that. ![]() |
Yes! They keep the mayo on the counter. |
Well I'm very worried that OP's employer is losing money due to her spending her afternoon in a battle with Cosi. OP, please post your supervisor's contact information so we can inform your company that you are wasting company resources. |
