Same here and I have a permit. I dont intend on caring for more than 4-5 children at any given time, therefore I do not need a state license but it doesnt mean my care is less than what a state provider gives

I have never heard of this townhouse rule. My provider cares for 12 kids with two assistants in her townhouse (though 4-5) are only there for before and after care. The state has inspected while she had a full house. Can someone pont me to the rule?

I don't think the rule is about townhouses vs. SFHs. I believe the rule is that you have to own, not rent. As you can imagine, they don't want to license someone who doesn't have the full authority to outfit the house with safety features as required, could be in danger of getting evicted on very short notice and leave parents in the lurch, etc.

That must be an enormous townhouse. I'm sure the neighbors are thrilled.
