I will definitely set this forum up. How about some proposals for a name?

call it babyboomers

As someone who's 41, I can relate to the idea of the idea of a more mature forum, and would like to get some insight into those issues before they slam me (the thought of taking care of my parents, for example, is terrifying).

But, I have to say, that I would avoid a forum called babyboomers; the phrase is unfortunately tied in my head with "entitlement."

I don't have any better suggestions yet, though.

I see some views expressed sometimes that astound me and I want to respond but then I realise that there's no point because we'll never see eye to eye. 20/25 years make a great deal of different in how one sees the world. Neither is right or wrong, just very different.

ITA, it was only after someone did a "how old are you?" thread that I started to understand why I felt so different than many of the responders. We were a whole different generation, our jokes are different, different finances, health problems are different and our general outlook is different.

And..who we think is hot on the "I'd hit that Thursday" thread is, but not always, different.

Why not just call it "Older Parents" forum?

Ha! I'm the Parents with Seasoning PP. Seasoned Parents was my first thought, but then I realized that, with a 7-year old DC, I am probably not a Seasoned Parent the way most 51-year olds are!
