trying to choose between Haycock, Mantua and Archer ES--any feedback?

What does this mean? Mantua feeds entirely into Frost and Woodson. The changes at Annandale sent some students from Wakefield Forest to Woodson. They don't change the assignments for Mantua.

Haycock, Archer, Mantua in that order.

Louise Archer has late start times and no SACC. For us this is a drawback. Hackock's SACC program is a several year wait I've heard.

Look at the date of the post you're questioning. It was written before the Annandale changes were finalized.

Missed that - yeah, before the changes were finalized, Tina Hone used to make noises periodically about redistricting Mantua kids from Woodson to Falls Church. Didn't happen and Hone has now left the School Board.

OP here. Sorry, just realized that the autocorrect changed VIENNA to MANTUA! So I meant Vienna Elementary school - not Mantua.

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish by this, because you're not the OP. I posted this a while back and I meant Mantua.

SORRY! I had a similar thread and upon quick glancing thought this was mine.

It's like that episode from the Brady Bunch when Jan complains about all the attention being given to her older sister - "MANTUA, MANTUA, MANTUA"!

Woodson is good but isn't top five anymore. The affluent live closer in.

Didn't see OP ask for anyone's opinion on the "top five." Anyway, the "top five" in Fairfax besides TJHSST are usually understood to be Langley, McLean, Woodson, Madison and Oakton. Haycock feeds into McLean, Archer and Vienna feed into Madison, and Mantua feeds into Woodson.

The current top 5 in Fairfax County according to US news are...

Marshall
McLean
Robinson
Langley
Woodson

You again? Give it a rest. No one who actually lives around here thinks Marshall is one of the top five HS in the county.

Anyway, apart from a couple of neighborhoods that feed into Vienna ES, the schools that the OP is asking about feed into other high schools. Maybe she just doesn't want to live in Pimmit Hills.

It's only as a result of a screw-up like this that US News ranked Marshall so high in Virginia - the poster does the school, which is certainly decent, no favors to trot out the same nonsense over and over again:

Wow, get defensive much? I am a new poster, and just posting the schools in order of ranking. I omitted TJ for obvious reasons.
There has been no report whatsoever that any FCPS data was inaccurate at all, so I am not sure what the linked article has to do with anything.

What do you have against Marshall? My kids are still in elementary and will go to Madison, but I have heard nothing but great things about Marshall.

And I like how you posted twice in a row to show support for yourself. Nice touch.
