Dog growling at toddler

Sorry to hear, OP. You have to keep the dog AWAY from the child. You have no choice. I love dogs, but really, what if he bit your child's face off? Either banish the dog to a certain area of the house with a door, or get rid of the dog all together.

^ Of course a child can be injured by a sick dog. The point is, the PP took her dog to the vet, got it treated, and the behavior went away. Before people make any permanent decisions, a vet visit should be in order. In the meantime, keep the toddler and dog separated.

The dog has bitten the toddler THREE times and you still have it in your home around your child? You might be the worst parent I've read on these boards yet, which is saying something.

Also, german shepherds should not be 150 lbs. that dog was bred incorrectly.

I get that, and I am not blaming the dog. But what if the dog gets sick and aggressive again? They seemed to have no warning signs except the aggression before, so the child is still at risk.

Springers have a reputation for unpredictable aggression. Time to rehome this dog. I'm so sorry for your situation.

You need to find a new home for that dog. I am concerned that your child does not seem to be your first priority.
