Well, I can commute to and from work using Capital Bikeshare for $75 per year. Apparently, the cost of one tank of gas these days.

Even if I didn't have to do daycare dropoff, I'd be terrified to bike in this city. Too many self-absorbed drivers just one text message away from creaming you. Be safe!

$70 2009 Honda Accord. And per the previous poster, I've seen people riding their bikes and EATING AN ICE CREAM CONE at the same time! So its not always the drivers fault! Bikers need to do better, tool!

$62 for my 06 Odyssey, but that is with Giant discounts of between $0.10 and $0.40 per gallon. I just paid $3.85/gallon (40 cents off). If I didn't do the Giant $$ off it would be closer to $73 I'm sure. It sucks. Since I'm not doing highway driving anymore, I'm getting lousy gas mileage and filling up way more than I used to just to get around town.

I saw someone TEXTING while riding his bike the other day!

You realize cars have various sized tanks, right? So it doesn't really matter how much it costs to fill up, rather how much you drive.

About $33....only every 6-8 weeks. Honda CR-V.

I work from home full-time and WALK everywhere--grocery stores, WholeFoods, Gym, Preschool, drycleaner, Pharmacy, etc.

I rarely am in the car unless I take kids over to grandparents' house or do my every 4-6 week Costco run.

Actually, it does matter, psychologically. I saw a study from the last gas crisis that said people preferred to go to the gas station more often than to pay more in a single visit. And it's the psychological reaction to gas prices that will spur policy change, more than the overall effect on a person's bottom line.

Woa, that's a lot for an Accord. We pay that much to fill up our Pilot. 'Only' about $50 to fill up our 2005 Accord.

2010 Subaru Forester. $56 and I fill up every week and a half. Not too bad, my commute isn't excrutiating.

I was thinking the same thing. How big of a tank is in that 2009 Accord? My 08 Highlander costs $70 to fill up.

$20/wk for a 1998 Toyota. DH uses it for work and errands.

I have no idea how big the tank is, but I have to say that my purchase has been a disappointment. My previous car was a 1999 Honda Civic and it got great gas mileage. I didn't know what I was getting myself into!

$72 2007 Toyota Sienna, cheapest gas at the pump. Drive 20 miles a day, more on weekends, so I fill up once a week.
