I just talked to Erin at MAMAS. She was very nice. She said that unfortunately, right now they are only taking clients in DC. Maryland requires them to have an OB backup available all the time and they haven't been able to find one. They don't anticipate having one lined up anytime soon. I am going to contact a few OBs and see whether any of them might be willing to act as back-up during my delivery (Erin said if I had that lined up I'd be able to do the homebirth), but I'm not overly optimistic about that. Does anyone have suggestions of OBs to call who might be open to that?
This message board has been so great and helpful! I'm glad I stumbled across it. Thanks for all the ideas! Amy |
