| Anything by the delightful Karen Elizabeth Gordon, who wrote such wonderful books as "The Deluxe Transitive Vampire" (grammar), and "The New Well-Tempered Sentence" (punctuation). Educational and unspeakably fun to read. |

| I own every book mentioned so far in this thread but my favorite is Fowler's. I prefer the British one--I think the American one was panned. |
