I've met some moms in the office and a few in daycare, but it's hard when you work full time and live in the city.

um, I'm one of the pps who recommended this and I live in the district too. not sure if you're saying you live in the ghetto or something, but if you go to the playgrounds - even urban ones - on saturday mornings there will be other families there. Promise.

Is there a problem with living in the ghetto?

i'm in your boat and i;ve just been really aggressive with the other preschool friends and i plan playdates on weekends with whole families - that way, my husband can meet the other husband and the moms can see if we connect, as well. we do what we would do with our little one anyways, such as the park, and then invite one or two other families along.

also, take some weekend classes - gymboree or jonah's treehouse or something - other people there are wknds are also likely to be working parents - again, be aggressive and if you feel like you could get along with a mom or two, plan a playdate in the park or lunch at nando's or whatever...
