scary screening results, freaking out

| I had a risk of 1/12 for Down syndrome. Did CVS at 13 wks because I didn't want to wait longer for amnio. My DD did not have Down syndrome and it was a huge relief to have the results earlier. |

| I had a 1 in 52 risk for Down's Syndrome for 1st trimester screening. Then no risk at 2nd trimester screening. I did an amnio at 17 weeks just 2 be sure and all was ok. Best wishes to you. It is not a done deal. |

| OP here - thanks everyone for the perspective and encouragement. We did the CVS on Friday and had the longest weekend and Monday of our lives! They finally called at the end of the day yesterday to tell us that the results were negative and that any major findings on the final results were "unlikely." we're finally starting to breathe and as one good by-product of this whole emotional roller coaster, we now know we're having a daughter 6 weeks earlier than we would have. A very welcome piece of good news! Thanks again to all of you who shared your scary stories and positive outcomes, had no idea how common this was! |
