With Japan crumbling, the Mid East erupting, $4 gas, 10% unemployment etc this is what Obama does...

President Obama has just arrived at the Embassy of Japan. Where is this man's priorities? Doesn't he realize that there basketball games he could be watching?

Second photo is the new one. Did it 2 days ago again. Your boy should be showing leadership but he's more interested in acting like a frat boy and being liked.

Yeah because W never did anything trivial while we had disasters going on....

You, I, nor any DCUM PPs are the President of the US. It is the appearance that is everything and this makes him appear frivolous. Now we understand that learning as one goes is not a good idea for the Pres. of the US or any other world leader. He is an incompetent elitist. Stop giving him a by by blaming the former Bush Administration because he has been Pres. for two years and he has made everything worse.

I agree with you. Obama's first priority is get his "appearances" in order to win over the bigoted idiots who think he's a Muslim, and who could never be placated if he spent the next trillion years carrying Glenn Beck's jockstrap. As long as that subset of Americans who call anyone with a passport an "elitist" think he's frivolous, we're doomed as a country.

Or he could just ignore those frothing nutcases and get on with the job of running the country.

Get over yourself OP. ALL presidents do things that are ceremonial or part of our culture (ie throwing out the first pitch) and once in a while (or a lot if you're GW), they go on vacation or have fun. They are human, they work around the clock give them an effing break. I highly doubt you question every move made by politicians on the other side? Like for example, with all the stuff you point to, the house GOP feel that NPR is an emergency. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/03/15/house-republicans-call-emergency-meeting-to-defund-npr/ No emergency jobs creation meeting, no emergency.

It doesn't really fit to call him an elitist in a thread about him filling out brackets. About 70% of americans are doing this, so it's pretty mainstream actually.

Do you honestly think your average American conservative of 2010 cares about that sort of thing? The important thing is that the photo illustrated that which the OP wanted to be true. This sums up the US brand of conservativism in a nutshell.

not sure. Clinton or Reagan would have done a better job staying on message. "Acting" presidential, giving an illusion of world leadership. Probably it helps to have an executive background in business (CEO level) or as a governor.

Most people who feel that Obama doesn't "look" Presidential are unfortunately basing that on something he has absolutely no control over...

Hypocrite!

Do you remember what you had to say waaaaaay back last fall when Obama did not call to congratulate the Giants for winning the World Series (which he did the next day btw)

Here it is in all your wingnut glory:

Obama can not even follow the basic script of what it means to be the President of the United States. Obama is really showing he is out of touch. Pretty much every President I can remember (Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush) would make the call, it would be broadcast and make the night special.

And wait, it gets even more hypocritical:
Yes I am. It is about our culture and a President that looks down on it. I guess he'd rather watch soccer or something else. Also it's just bad politics because things like this show how aloof you are.

So let me get this right:

President Obama does not immediately call the San Francisco Giants after the World Series, and he is aloof, looks down on our culture, and it's "bad politics".
President Obama makes a public gesture in support of the NCAA Tournament, and he is out of touch, a frat boy who wants to be liked, and once again "bad at politics".

AHAHAHAHAHA You are so busted. You will say anything.

OP, with all those things going on in the world you took the time to post to DCUM. And as a matter of fact, you take a lot of time posting to DCUM. I know because your posts are so easily recognizable. So, I guess it's okay for you to waste enormous amounts of time on DCUM while Obama can't spare a few minutes for the NCAA tournament.

What hole are you trying to fill in your life?

ummm, I am the PP you quoted, and certainly not the earlier PP you posted. Believe it or not, but over half the country thinks Obama is a disaster, so probably even a few of us here on DCUM.

Yeah but they're not so shallow that they give a damn about whether he takes some time to publicize his NCAA picks. BTW I heard on the news that there are a number of politicians who are attending the NCAA tournament. I suppose they're all awful, right? I suppose we can look forward to your posts condemning them for taking time out during these international crises.
