14th and W public school options

If you have a car in the city, your "out-of-boundary" school options options expand somewhat. You will find your location is quite central for work & evenings out, there is a metro station at 13th & U. Bridges is another free preschool-only public charter school to consider (that takes 3 year olds who are not potty trained, good bye daycare bill!) but Appletree on 14th is closer.
Garrison is one of those schools that has low test scores presently but there are a lot of invested homeowners in the area who are going to be making that transition from the Home Depot to the Buy Buy Baby stage of life.

Locally, you best option is probably Ross at 17th and R. But, you are oob, so hart to get in.

Apply to Charters, listed above. You'll be fine. Welcome to the neighborhood.

OP here. Wow! Thanks for the great info on schools (and secret sandwich shops too!! Yum) my daughter just turned 2 a few weeks ago so she's too young for a threes program this year, but how awesome that they exist!! In NYC we pay for private preschool until 1/2 day universal preK at 4. I will check out all these options. I'm getting excited now. Thanks.
