Can you spot our friends posting on DCUM?

I always change any identifying details. DD becomes DS (or vice versa). Ages change. Location. Etc.

All my friends absolutely deny being on here (i think they're lying), so no, i've never been able to spot anyone...

What's posted on DCUM stays on DCUM

Same! I would be mortified if my friends knew how much time I spend on DCUM. Though I always secretly wonder if they are on, too.

Yep - I would never say I go on DCUM.

Just deny it. Only your forum administrator will know for sure!

I'm conscious of which posts will be identifiable to friends and which ones aren't. Sometimes I don't care if they know it's me, usually because I've already talked to them about it. I know several women who post on here, and I've often recognized their posts, but they probably don't care in the same manner that I don't. When it's really personal stuff, etc, I can't imagine that anyone would figure out it's me. I change details and don't generally provide a lot of ultra-personal friends anyway. (And my sister is not on here).

I've discussed it with friends and we admit we come on here but we talk as if we just laugh at all the crazies who get so worked up about everything. We never admit we are the crazies. (Or maybe they're not, and it's just me. But I suspect it's them too.)

To the posters who pretend not to be on DCUM, why the shame? Is it because spending a few minutes on personal relaxation/entertainment is out of the question? Is it because you think DCUM never has good advice for anybody?

Oh honey, it is so much more than a few minutes. That's the first problem.

My friend has identified me, emailed a few postings of mine to me with a sticky that said You??????

I hhave an identifiable tone I guess. Since she did that, I try and sanitize my prose.

i saw a mom with DCUM open on her lap top while she ate a sandwich at my local panera and her kiddo was just screaming in the stroller LOL

I called my nanny out on one of her posts. She is no longer my nanny.

did you confront her personally?

My one friend told me a potty training story that was very similar to a posting on DCUM, but I didn't ask, because I thought it was sort of like fight club. The first rule is you don't talk about fight club. The second rule is....you don't talk about fight club.

Clearly, my DH picks out the movies we watch.

I have recognized one friend without a doubt. Other people I've thought I recognized only to see other posters then chime in with "I do that, too" posts, so who knows.
