Lady gaga omg

Perhaps Lady Gaga's "performance artist" schtick borrows from Madonna, but Gaga has ten times the sheer musical talent of Madge. I mean, you can't even compare them, vocally. Different arena altogether.

Cee Lo was the bird that hatched Gaga's egg.

I agree with this. Madonna's singing improved over time, but Gaga's voice is just so much stronger. No comparison there. Gaga also strikes me as far more creative. Of couse she's been influenced and inspired by Madonna. But I think It's far bigger than the music with her -- her costuming, staging and overall image/presence seem much stronger and more interesting than Madonna's.

As for the new song sounding like "Express Yourself," I think that's completely true. I assume it's an intentional homage rather than a rip off, only because it's so obvious. But who knows. If Gaga doesn't hear the connection, she's insane.

Meanwhile, WTF was that Muppets/Gweneth Paltrow song about??? Definitely the most bizarro moment of the night. Gweneth is just so completely awkward on stage. I don't get it.

LOVE Gaga's weirdness. I agree with others that her vocal ability surpasses Madonna. Don't think she's copying....many artists today (i.e. Rihanna) are trying to stand out. I don't remember Madonna being as outrageous (costume and performance-wise) as Gaga.

Re: Usher....Unless you enjoy R&B, you won't get it. He's divine.

I like J. Bieber...my children like him, so I've come to know his songs. He actually has a really great voice for a young boy. Jayden Smith was adorable.

I don't really know current music. What is that current song that is kind of like a line dance, with gliding to the right, jumping, clapping hands, etc.? They play it at the ice rink and at dance parties. DC loves it, but I don't know who sings it.

I'm sure Madaonna was influenced by people before her so I have no problem with Gaga being influenced by her. Gaga has a much better voice.

DH and I were wondering WTH?? Cee-lo's outfit was crazy. I immedietly thought of Elton John.

Cee-lo was the musical guest on SNL a few weeks ago when Gwyneth hosted. Maybe that was the beginning of them masterminding this performance??

Love Gaga. Not a fan of Bieber, but then again I don't really know his music other than that "baby, baby" song. His hair just bothers me.

I consider the Grammy's a success if Taylor Swift doesn't win anything. (I don't think she did? Was she even nominated?)

I used to like Gaga's strangeness but now I am over it. My DH thinks that she came up with her "style" because she is not that good looking (relative to the pop star world).

Personally, I would be a bigger fan if she was not constantly shoving some sort of message down our throats.

There was a good story on 60 minutes last night about her. She is not in that great of shape -I was shocked she would let them film her when looking like that. I am nto sure what she does on stage to look so good -perhaps lighitng or something but I was shocked.

She's like 24 years old, of course she can dance and sing and be in great shape.

In the 60 minutes piece she talked about the over the top outfits and behavior. Basically it is so she can control what people are talking about. The media is too busy talking about that and doesn't bother to ask her personal stuff about her family, who she is dating, etc. She likes it that way.

I'd rather just hear her sing without all the other nonsense.

Apparently that outfit was the one (or a recreation of) that Elton John wore when he was on the Muppets.
