How bad is it to take Ambien every night to sleep?

This was a really unnecessary, not to mention completely not helpful response...

OP.. If the doctor tells you that it's ok.. providing you were being honest with him about how much you take it, than you should be alright. If you have doubts, you can try not taking it for a night or so, and see what happens.

After not falling asleep until 5:00 a.m. and getting up at 6:30 a.m., I went back to taking Ambien. Not sleeping is a whole lot worse as far as I'm concerned. Take it if you need to.

Benadryl is not less harmful for everyone. It makes my heart race (paradoxical effect). It's terrifying. Ambien is a thousand times safer for me (and gets me to sleep, unlike Benadryl, which assures I'll not only be awake, but suffering racing heart for hours).

I was the poster who told OP if she had to ask... You people giving advice saying it's not addictive are IRRESPONSIBLE. There are entire websites dedicated to Ambien addiction. Just because you took it for 3 years, doesn't make it okay!

If you don't believe me (an RN), just google "Ambien Addiction"... There are 766,000 pages to prove you wrong.

I'm the PP who posted this and the last response. My comment was incredibly helpful, all of you saying Ambien isn't addictive are WRONG.

Obviously you don't, since you're probably one of the idiots who told the OP it was okay to take Ambien every night.

I think I'd trust her doctor and not a bunch of google pages. Jenny McCarthy said you had a "degree from google" and that nonsense caused kids to die.

OP, have you ever tried melatonin? It's a more natural solution that is non-addictive.

Okay well then trust a doctor who isn't stupid. Lots of doctors give out Oxy and pain meds like candy as well. You're just trying to justify your own choices.

I use this on my son on nights that he is "keyed up" and it works beautifully. Usually within 1/2 hour of taking the drops, he is asleep.

I make it a personal policy not to trust anonymous internet bitches, especially if they claim to be RNs. RNs have less education than car mechanics, for god's sake. What's it take, 2 years to be an RN? HA!

OP, trust your doctor!
