| The best brand that blends comfort with style well is Sigerson Morrison. They can be quite pricey (I usually buy them on sale), but I own a few pumps, flats and sandals and can wear them all day long without feeling discomfort while looking stylish and professional. |

I just got some cute Munro brown flats on sale - my first pair of flats! They are pretty comfortable.
I also have some surprisingly comfortable and very cheap $21 payless black pumps. I wouldn't want to walk miles in them (I change into sneakers when leaving the office) but they are fine for being on my feet in the office. |
| I have some Rockport loafers that I love. I'm not sure they are as comfortable as Danskos, but I don't mind being on my feet for several hours while wearing them. |
| Beautifeel. They make some very classic looking pumps. |
| I'm on my feet all day, too. It sounds corny, but Reebok Easytones are sooooo comfortable! |

I have problematic feet -- wide(ish), flat feet that require a lot of TLC. I used to put myself through a great deal of pain to wear "purdy" feminine shoes, and in my 30s, with a job that required a great deal of standing and presenting for hours at a time, I finally decided that comfort had to be my priority.
I did have to make some compromises on style, though. Dainty, stiff little shoes with pointy toes were out. I could wear mostly-flats with good support (my favorite shoes through pregnancy were red patent leather flats with good arches I got from Naturalizer), wedges (I have a pair of Naots I love), and even some heels (check out Crocs -- yes, Crocs). Don't let the web sites scare you: there are plenty of attractive work-appropriate shoes among the "fugly" styles. I will say, though, that I had to embrace a certain level of chunky, kick-ass, funkiness in my footwear to get comfortable. Ad mentioned, the little pointy-toe stiletto or even kitten heel shoes will never find their way onto my feet! |
Q: What kind of feet do you have? High arches, etc? I took a look at the web site and I already know I'd never be able to wear these shoes. I see no arch support in them whatsoever. For my square flat-footed tootsies, I suspect I'd feel nothing but pain.

| If you need arch support and work in a business casual environment, I recommend Audjie (Zappos sells them). VERY comfortable. |
