My husband loves brisket. I cut it in half...spread bbq sauce on the top and bottom...wrap in foil...throw a bunch of water in the slow cooker...a perfect brisket comes out by slow cooking for 8 hours...you can use the drippings for "au jus". I put it in at 11 pm when I go to bed. When I wake up at 7 am, it is perfect (I cut whatever fat off before serving). Husband takes sandwiches to work or eats some for dinner with potatoes or whatever.

Oh, I have one other recipe -- Mexican meatloaf...1 cup of salasa, one-half pack of taco seasoning, 1 cup of cheddar cheese, one egg...make a loaf, wrap in foil...put some water in the pot...out comes a perfect meatloaf...slow cook for about 6 hours or fast for 3 to 4 hours.

I just made this vegetarian veggie stew this week:

1 medium eggplant, diced
1 onion, diced
chopped garlic
1 stalk celery, diced
1 pepper, diced (can use sweet)
1 can chickpeas
1 can diced tomato, with juices
2 t. salt
a little poultry seasoning (or thyme, marjoram, parsley, sage)
2 C. water

Saute onions, garlic, celery, pepper and eggplant for about 5 minutes until the onions get soft. Put into the slow cooker with the remaining ingredients and cook on low 6-8 hours.

The stew had a great fresh taste and would probably be good with diced chicken or even a little pre-cooked sausage thrown in at the last minute.

white chicken chili:
chicken tenderloins (shred easier than breasts)
1 can hominy
1 jar chopped green chiles
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 packet taco seasoning

on low all day, the chicken will fall apart on its own. We sometimes add mushrooms, too.

I thought the recipe sounded delicious, too, but was thinking I wouldn't mix it with the blender.

I've run into this "Disgusting" poster before, esp. responding to slow cooker recipes. Grow up, lady. This isn't junior high.
