If you've had a root canal and it went well

Carolina Rodriguez-Rad, downtown DC; 202-659-8568

Listed in top endodontists in Washingtonian Magazine. She did a great job for me.

BTW, OP, have you had a root canal before? They've changed a great deal and are really no big deal anymore.

Good luck. Hope you find someone you like!

Also a Dr. Melrod fan. Pretty painless and he's very calm and assuring.

Dr Cohen at the Barlow Building.
Honest, caring and made the procedure as painless as possible.

Root canals - never understand how they get such a bad name. Mine have always been smooth and not very painful.

Dr Melrod will tell you exactly how many minutes the entire procedure will take, he'll give you breaks, and his dental assistants are really nice too. If it's a front tooth, it might only take 15 minutes or so . . .

does it really only take 45 minutes? that's better then a crown.

Dr. Gamson in Bethesda. He is AMAZING! I am a chicken when it comes to dental stuff. But, he really puts you at ease. He is so kind and gentle. He promised it wouldn't hurt and it didn't. I LOVE him.

He gets great reviews online as well: http://www.yelp.com/biz/edward-k-gamson-dds-ms-bethesda

I am freaking about how long a root canal will take. Is it true that some of your procedures were less then an hour? Let me know. I think I can do this if it only takes this long.

Thanks,

Freaking out

Mine was less than an hour! It was not bad at all, I even went shopping that afternoon since I had the day off from work!

I just had one last week at Robert J. Kelly & Associates in Kensington, very smooth and better than the crown! Endodontist is Dr. Vandenburg and they take insurance.

Tony Hsu in Rockville/North Bethesda. I might as well have had a cavity filled. Took a little motrin/tylenol, but really didn't feel any thing afterwards.

Dr. Dyzak in Kensington did mine and was really great. He also did my father's as a middle aged adult and that went really well. When you are older the roots can wrap around the nerves and if the doctor isn't very skilled you can end up with permanent nerve damage (numb cheek, nose, or chin). It is a risk nonetheless.
