Does the school have an OT? You might want to have them do an in class eval to see if they spot triggers. If not, I'd have an OT who specializes in SPD do an in class observation.
How does he do with a fidget item to hold in his hand? Even rubber bands across the legs of his chair that he can "play" with? I think if his hands were otherwise "busy" it might help, as long as it didn't add to his distraction. I think you might get some valuable insights from the NIMH study if you qualify, it was very useful for us. I'd add fish oil supplements, they are really helpful for some kids. How much sleep does he get and does he snore? Does he have allergies? There is a big connection between poor sleep and poor impulse control If he has allergies, I'd try shots. If he snores, see an ENT. |
As a teacher, I've always found kids get zooey just before a storm. Today at schooll yes indeed the kids went nuts, and that was before the snow started! Kudos to your son for being so attentive in the face of that! That is unusual! |
