I don't buy it. I think the higher HR creates a burn that lasts much longer through out the rest of the day. Also, I feel that when I push my HR high for longer periods, it really builds up my endurance to exercise longer on my long cardio days (where I do 1.5hrs of cardio at a lower HR). If you look at really in shape people doing cardio, they are pushing it hard. |
| I do 30 - 60 minutes on a rowing machine (concept 2). The nice thing about it is it works out your major muscle groups and is resistance in addition to cardio. You definately need to have proper form. It does get tedious ( though no more so than treadmil or elliptical). Also tends to be underused at the gym bc people aren't typically familiar with it unless they did crew. I prefer it to running bc it s zero imact and To the elliptical bc you exercise more muscle groups. It's pretty brutal at first so if you try it don't get discouraged. |
