Sorry, OP, I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, until I found this other disuccion forum with the exact same title:

"PSA: Trader Joe's Pear Cider, YUM!"

http://members5.boardhost.com/chatboard/msg/1291177641.html

google PSA: Trader Joe's -- and you'll find a lot of similar comments on "mommy" blogs..... sad.

Regardless of the OP's intentions, I agree that is yummy! (Jeff could confirm that I am not the OP.)

Thank you, PP!!! Note to Trader Joe's -- I don't like doing business with liars. Get yourself some better PR.

Back to the cider --

Is it alcoholic cider?

Jeff -- I hope you keep this thread up for all to see, even though it's a giant ad. I would love to refer posters to it the next time trader joe's starts a thread.

OP again, seriously, I don't work at Trader Joe's. I find it amazing that 1) a similar thread exists (in CA's horse community btw) and 2) that you have gone to such great lengths to prove that I work at TJ's. Don't you have anything better to do with your time? I'm home sick, so at least I have an excuse. Do you want a detailing of my symptoms so you can try to prove I'm not sick either?

This is ridiculous. Like I said in my post, the apple ginger isn't that great and neither is very good cold, don't know why I'd say that if I worked there, wouldn't I say both were amazing and it was great hot or cold?

I'm usually on the TTC board so I don't have much in common with the other boards or feel like I can share anything since I'm not a mom yet, but I post occasionally on this board since it is the least kid related. On the TTC board we don't have the issues with trolls and I think people are generally kinder and less paranoid, so I didn't think much of posting something about TJ's.

Anyway, if Jeff can look at the IP addresses of various posters, he could probably verify that I've posted this and many posts on the TTC board.

I still like the pear cider (not so much the apple) and it is not carbonated and not alcoholic. I heated it in the microwave and it was great. Buy it, don't buy it, I don't care.

No offense to the OP, but "PSA: Trader Joe's Pear Cider, YUM!" isn't exactly a unique title.

I find it amazing that a similar thread exists, too -- even more amazing that it exists WITH THE EXACT SAME WORDING.

You are spending a lot of time defending your love of Trader Joe's cider -- and there is more than one poster pointing out that this seems like an ad. Who has too much time on their hands?

I'm home sick, for the third day in a row. I have no kids. All I have is time on my hands. But I'm not the one doing internet research to prove something. FWIW, the wording isn't exact, the other post in California by a specific user registered on that board is "PSA: Trader Joe's Pear Cinnamon Cider - YUM. nm"

As for it being a vast marketing gimmick, if it is, it's only hit DCUM and that CA board. Some blogs mention it, but I guess those could have been set up years ago by TJ employees with fake posts all building up to the moment when they launch their pear cider ad campaign.

I just don't understand the trend of everyone calling posts fake, ads, trolls, etc... Why bother following DCUM if you're just going to be suspicious about every post you read?

Again, I find it hard to believe anyone is unaware of advertising on sites like these. People who call them conspiracies and belittle the idea are either naive or placing ads themselves.

Anything I say will be taken as more proof that I work for TJ's, so I give up.

I know these things happen from time to time, I've been suspicious about posts on the TTC board that sound like they're from specific doctors offices. And when I was on bridal boards, there were definite times when a caterer or dress store were posting and hyping their business. But those were local businesses, so it made sense for them to troll local boards and post ads. It doesn't make sense for a national company to do it in my opinion.

I am the one other poster that has backed the OP up and said that the cider is amazing! In fact, I just had a glass while we were decorating our tree and plan to buy more tomorrow for a dinner party later in the week. For those that think this is a huge conspiracy, I really think you are the ones that have too much time on your hands. Why would you read an online forum if you see trolls and marketing people in between all the lines?

that's not the point at all. Please.

Then what is the point? That there are posters out there who think they are smarter than everyone and have to point out possible conspiracies instead of taking a yummy product suggestion?
Anonymous
It's just glorified sugar water.
