in-car DVD entertainment systems

Even on long drives -- there are only a few years where they can't read or draw or entertain themselves by looking out the window. The family can sing or play word games. Or they can listen to music on an iPod once they are late elementary schoolers.

I just think it's sad that we need to shove them in front of a screen all the time.
