Hi recent PPs, thanks for the mention, 20:23 -- by the way, not that I'm in that boat yet, but may I know how you found the delivery experience with MCA?
09:25 -- thanks for that tip, I think the doctor who I saw earlier in the year tried a small one, though to be honest I'm not sure. Whatever the case, it wasn't a successful exam |

I'm not getting anymore of those exams ever again. So it's a weight off my shoulder not to have to worry about it. I'm just sharing my experience with OP so she'll know she isn't alone.

| If you have a fear of penetration in general (during exams or sex), then you might suffer from a condition called vaginismus. This can be treated with therapy and vaginal dilators. I would recommend staying away from meds. You did not mention having problems during intercourse as well, but if you DO, then it could be related to vaginismus which causes your vaginal muscles to clamp down in anticipation of penetration. Pap exams are generally not painful, but most women do not think they are 'fun' either. You might want to ask your GYN to use a small (teen) speculum to see if that makes the difference. Vaginismus occurs quite frequently and it is not necessarily related to abuse. |
| Hi PP, I (OP) have not checked on here in while. I've considered that I might have vaginismus, and it would be one reason why why penetration is difficult. It's true that in anticipation of any penetration, I do somehow seize up. So, it's a big problem. I'd also hope to stay away from any medications, too, if possible. |
