Schools and Education General Discussion
| I actually think it is a bit nervy of the teacher to expect you to come in every morning. I, too, am a SAHM with a 3-yr old in preschool 3 mornings. I have two kids in elementary school, and I volunteer one morning a week for two hours (one hour for each teacher). I think that is more than enough. It leaves me two mornings to myself to get other things accomplished. |
| OP again...you know, it's possible the teacher was just saying she needs help every day...not necessarily asking me to come in every day. Perhaps it was a misunderstanding? Regardless, I'm going to do it once a week. |

To OP...I think you are doing enough and it's wonderful you are willing to help out. You have a right to free time as well.
I do wish at my son's public school volunteering was encouraged as i would like to be so involved too. |

Unfortunately, we teachers don't have personal administrative assistants to do the "grunt work." Cutting is a big deal at the elementary level.
Obviously, PP, you're the one full of BS. Educate yourself before you comment on a topic b/c you sound like an idiot.

| I am an hourly employee so I really can't afford to take time off to volunteer in the classroom. I do offer to do any admin work at home like cutting, pasting, organizing, etc. Teachers really do appreciate this help since this is what they would usually take home and do after their own kids go to sleep. |
