Day care closing for Muslim holiday

Ask if a friend wants to share their nanny for the day...

I often use the assistant at the daycare (I assume this is a home daycare, no?). THe assistant is perfect as she knows my children and little instruction is required. I also grap her up for any vacation my DCP takes.

I agree with a PP who said, find a new daycare.

I totally fell in love with the JCC daycare in my neighborhood but, my work does not close on all the Jewish holidays so.... I had to go with a center that follows the Feds. It's hard enough with the Center's plans to close for a week at Christmas, a week for summer vacation, and the occassional early closure. I need a center that follows my work schedule as much as possible.

In general, Muslims only observe two holidays that are major enough to miss a day of work, the two Eids. If you really like the provider, I don't think it's worth moving for that.

Only if you pay her.

Why do friends have to be paid to help out a friend? OP, if I were your friend, and I was a SAHM, I would watch your child for a day and wouldn't dream of asking for money. Friends help out friends when needed and sometimes when it is inconveient. Having said this, I wouldn't want this to be a steady policy. But once in awhile or an emergency, yes.

I would never ask for or accept money, but I would be annoyed if the friend did not offer to reciprocate by taking my child for an afternoon or so, say on a weekend.
