We were in a similar situation last year, but for engineering. My kid had a great year at Purdue, exceeding all expectations and your kids will not have the pressure of a secondary admission to major that my kid had. I was nervous about the size in general, but my kid wanted a large school and went in with eyes wide open. My kid did to the summer start program, which eased the transition and helped make friends in a more laid back environment. |

IMO, colleges purposefully make the lower level classes large not just because of student population but as weed out classes. |
