Honestly I have heard from many teachers they are ready to do this between the roaches and mice. Maybe it's what needs to happen. Why are FCPS buildings not being kept up to basic health standards. Richest county acts the poorest

Seriously there is a food service company operating in the school. This is an issue that the county needs to know about.

6th grade promotion ceremony was today and I saw a roach in the cafeteria during the reception.

Ceremony should have been at Oakton HS. It has always been there. But again the principal burned some bridges. It was hot and no AC working. They need an exterminator there for the pests and other things.

I was there and the AC was fine. I wasn't hot at all and I definitely would have noticed. Maybe you showed up late and had a seat next to the door to outside? Not sure the point of spreading lies about an elementary school.

They aren't buddies. Some kiss up so they get better treatment but no one likes them.

Dang both music teachers going to other fcps schools.

Nope. No opinion on the admin. I've never had to deal with any of them. My kids are good students and I'm all done with Waples now anyway so I don't even have a stake in this discussion anymore. I just don't understand the purpose of making things up to be upset about. The AC was fine yesterday.

So why even comment here. You must have perfect children.

Actually, I pretty much do and I'm thankful for it. As for the school - it may very well have mice and cockroaches as you (or someone else) posted, I don't know. But I do know the AC isn't broken and don't see the reason to lie about it. Seems like you've had a lot of meetings with the admin team to have such strong feelings about them, guess you have difficult kids? Now you are just trashing the school because you are upset with the principals.

If you never volunteered or got involved in anyway, you probably wouldn't have interacted with the admin.

I mostly volunteered for stuff like the fun run and the Hershey park concert / trip. You only interact with teachers for anything like that. Maybe I would have dealt with admin if I was a PTA board member or organized one of those after school activities, or if my kids got in trouble or had special needs or required a 504 or something like that.

Oakton HS refinished all the gym floors last week and they were still closed for some of this week. That's probably why it wasn't available for the promotion ceremony.

I'm surprised - if you were around teachers, especially off-site, I would have thought you'd hear them talk. They all have a lot to say about the admin at the school...

Longtime sub here - now relocated. I put WMES in my “do not return” list precisely because of the awful, brusque, rude and dismissive front office staff - the lot of them.

How the principal would allow such behavior is beyond me. I’m not alone in my opinion; if I received this type of treatment, I can only imagine how the parents are treated.
