Speeding STA mom?

Big, honking black Suburban (BHBS) with an STA sticker and multiple vacation stickers is in front of me. The light turns red. BHBS then runs the red light, turning left in the face of oncoming traffic. I wait at the light. A couple of minutes later, I see BHBS cutting through the lower school pickup traffic on 36th, wreaking havoc.

If one of the stickers is for Nantucket, I know this Suburban well. It's almost run me down twice in the last year. By the way, it's not a speeding STA mom. It's an STA dad. He's an a-hole.

please slow down

Absolutely! I was almost hit by a teen driver with a car full of her friends. All she did at the near miss was put her hand to her mouth with a stupid oops look on her face. I wanted to smack her.

Why do people think they have to have those massive gas guzzling expensive SUV's, I don't know. What are you trying to prove? Personally I'd like to vaporize them all.

I know who this is. These Maryland drivers have no respect for the neighborhood. This is why I propose a commuter tax.

See, I have this fantasy that on posts like these, the asshole in question will read the thread, recognize herself (or himself, as the case seems to be), and feel considerable shame when he realizes how people see him. This would then lead him to become more enlightened and a better driver.

That never happens, does it?

Yepper, that's the one.

And could we add to the offensive list the white Range Rover that is dropping off AND picking up an NCS middle schooler in front of the lower school on 36th, expressly against the school's very clearly stated policy? Yes, you. Maryland tags. If I see it happen again, I'm going to post the tag number. I've already written it down.

Let's start outing these people. Also the police station is pretty close maybe we can alert them as well.

This post made me laugh. It reminds me of a crazy woman with a NCS sticker on the back of her minivan (with MD plates) who drove into the Giant parking lot the wrong way and kept trying to back up into a space. My young children and I waited for a few moments then finally tried to cross.

She opened her window and started screaming at us and said I was a "bad mother" who needed to "start looking out for your kids."

I nearly had a heart attack. My oldest child (5) actually told her to stop yelling. I never said a word.

We both went our own ways and then about half an hour later when I got back to my car, I watched her pull OUT of the parking spot the wrong way, go down the lane the wrong way, and exit the wrong way - with cars parting and pulling over for her the entire way.

I should have called the police. There was something seriously wrong with her.

Um, duh, pills. Explains a lot about these Big 3 moms.

Exactly why there are cameras on phones. Snap and post people, snap and post! I can't say it enough.

There is a crazy red Maserati (yes, I am sure of it) which is always whizzing around the Close at around 8 am. Not sure if they have kids who go there, or just live there. But it races around Woodley and Reno like they were in Grand Prix.

Almost rear ended today by speeding Visitation girl. She was driving mom's Lexus SUV. Visi decal on bottom left back window. The car was full of girls. The driver was cackling all the way. If she's yours, talk some sense into her before it's too late.

WWIII will do that for you.

Let's add the GDS lower school SUV parents who every morning speed down the left lane of Foxhall--yes the one that turns left only onto Reservoir, you know this by now--and swerve into the right lane at the very last second instead of waiting in the right lane for your turn like everyone else. You are reckless drivers and one day you are going to crash into one of your child's classmates because of your reckless, impatient driving.

Talk to the city about adding some red light and speed cameras around the area. We need the money!
