Need a recommendation for a primary care doctor in Chevy Chase, Silver Spring, or Bethesda

@18.44 I have booked in with Dr Blakeman based on your suggestion - hope it works out! Due to my insurance requirements I've also had to make her my PCP. I got a good feeling from the front desk and research too. She HAS to be better than my previous PCP at Potomac Physicians Assoc's who I couldn't STAND (also hated the practice, all so rushed and rude and difficult billing issues etc). Whatever you do OP I'd avoid that place (in Kensington). Good luck!

OP, how did it go for you with Dr. Blakeman?

(reviving the thread to see if OP is around)

I really like Dr. Andrea Karp in Bethesda

I have seen Dr Dhar and have to admit I am not her biggest fan. She is nice and all but just seems like she is too busy or something. But maybe I am just expecting too much??

I'm the person who originally asked about Dr. Dhar. I did go ahead and see her and I agree with you. She seems like she is on auto pilot - she faces her computer while she asks the questions - I would think the doc should be watching the patient as she does the physical. I did not have any serious issues, but her manner in addressing my minor complaints was so dismissive I would be hesitant to raise any more complaints. She is overall very pleasant and I have been to worse docs, but I think I will continue looking for an internist.

I'll strongly second this recommendation. Been seeing her and her awesome PAs for a few years now and they are the best around!

I cannot figure out why people keep recommending Dr. Marshall. I have been very disappointed. What do you like about her and that practice?

I just became a new patient at Dr. Angela Marshall's. I was at my visit for 2 hours....most of that time I was being interviewed or examined! I have never been taken such good care of! The PA was amazing!

I use the same practice but see Dr. Laura Brown. Honestly, I am so comfortable with her. She has school-age children and is very easy to talk to. I never feel rushed during my physical and everything is covered.

Any experiences with Dr. Carmen Hurtado at Johns Hopkins' downtown Bethesda offices? The North Bethesda office isn't convenient for me...

Reviving thread once again . . . re Dr Angela Marshall in Silver Spring.

Yelp reviews are terrible!

I've been to practice once - was in a rush, and only able to see the NP Christina Neal (who seemed good). However, my GYN disagreed with Neal's advice to me that I needed to get off BCP if I had migraines (with aura or not). Still not clear to me who was "right" in their characterization of current medical advice (I am now off BCP).

Delia Fine in Bethesda. She does not take insurance and is expensive. That being said, she spends an hour with me for my annual physical, and is fantastic. I have heard good things about the other doctors in the practice, (all female). After seeing rushed, overbooked doctors I just gave up and pay out of network for exceptional care.

I don't get the Dr. Marshall reviews either. I am a patient, have been for years, and pretty unsatisfied. I'd love to find someone new.
