Maybe they were just surprised at the overt racism? |
| Tree Bones is a nice spot. Lodging is fine but the omakase is great — intimate and delicious. |
Recognizing one's nationality is now overt racism? Do you need a special blankie? Are your fee fees hurting? |
I understood all of it. The "What???" was more of a "What? Are you really typing out this ugly racism/xenophobia?" I suppose the answer to that is: Yes. Gosh, this site gets ugly. Innocent question about travel in the Big Sur area and someone feels the need to unleash some hate. |
I have never had a good experience in Carmel going back decades. Always unfriendly, snotty, old-person-oriented, and expensive. |
It’s a beautiful town, in a super beautiful location, but really wasn’t for me. Carmel just has a different vibe. I do love the area- especially Big Sur. Used to have family in Monterey and visited often. |

A burger at Nepanthe is always good.

Carmel is now so busy and completely taken over by day trippers from the valley. I blame instagram for the tourist trap vibe.
I would go to pebble beach and pacific grove and Carmel valley. Stay at Bernardus or Carmel valley ranch. Beautiful. |
